PHOTOGRAPHER

Jenny Ruley

The beauty of how the camera and science merged 175 years ago is amazing. Photographs made through historical techniques can be as beautiful and alive in
these modern digital times. She uses large format film cameras, then historical photographic techniques like dry plate, wet plate, contact print through gum bichromate, salt print, platinum/palladium print, van dyke or cyanotype method. As with every artist and master, she continues to search her artistic soul for subjects that inspire her to record.

Jenny appreciates the beauty of raw, all-or-nothing, process of how an image is made from start to finished work, and she wants to share with the viewer how photographic images were made 200 years ago, and in modern times, can still stand apart as a fascinating art
form.
